Franck (2024)

30 years after, Francois Byamana reflects on his experience during the Rwandan Genocide and the impact it has had on his life.
The shoot for Franck was an emotional shift from the film sets of both ‘Pulsewidth’ and ‘Even a Worm Will Turn’ which I was shooting in the same months of 2024. It was refreshing to shoot with a documentary approach and the freedom it offers with more than one camera and no set shot list. Director Luka Clayton placed great emphasis on the cinematic sequences throughout the doco which informed the choice of shooting in widescreen. Playing a big part in the primarily two person post production team along with the director was lots of fun and allowed me to explore and dive deeper into areas like composing and sound mixing.
